When & Where
The Track and Field Season runs from November to March each year.  Competition is held most Saturdays at the Caledonian Ground,LoganPark.  Competition includes track and field for all age groups. 


Track events range from 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m and 10,000m.  Hurdling events are also held most Saturdays and steeplechase events are held from time to time.

Field Events

Field events consist of shot put, discus, hammer, javelin, high jump, long jump and triple jump and the pole vault is also held on occasions.

The  programme for 2016/2017 will be available in October 2016 from Athletics Otago Generally there are two programmes that run alternate weekends.  A summer booklet is printed by Athletics Otago for the summer season outlining the programmes for each week including when the Championship events are held.  Competition finishes the weekend before Christmas and resumes the second or third weekend in the New Year.  Please refer to the Athletics Otago website for more specific details on events.

If you are registered with Athletics Otago for the winter then you are eligible to    compete over the summer at the Caledonian.  An entry fees to compete at the Caledonian

  • Season Pass Over 18 $85
  • Season Pass Under 18 $65
  • Otago Masters ( not registered with a club ) $130
  • Daily Rate Registered $10
  • Daily Rate Unregistered $20. 

 (These charges helps to pay for the hire of the ground from the DCC)  If you are not registered over the winter and would like to compete over the summer then the Caversham Club charges the athlete the Athletics Otago fee for registration only.
